Su Wei
Chief Climate Negotiator, People’s Republic of China; Former Deputy Secretary-General of the National Development and Reform Commission

Su Wei is China's Chief Climate Negotiator. He has enjoyed a distinguished career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving in a variety of different capacities, including as; Counselor of the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations; Deputy Director of the Department of Treaty and Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Office Director of the National Coordination Committee on Climate Change at the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC); Deputy Secretary-general of NDRC; and Director of NDRC’s International Cooperation Department. Mr. Su has been responsible for coordinating the utilization of foreign capital and overseas investments towards funding the Belt and Road Initiative, along with other areas of international cooperation. A native of Zhucheng, Shandong province, he holds a master's degree in law from both Renmin University in China and the University of Cambridge in the UK.
